Trichogaster lalius
Also known as: Robin Dwarf Gourami
Origin: South Asia
The Robin Dwarf Gourami is a captive-developed colour morph of Colisa lalia designed to emphasise contrasting red-orange and blue-green body zones. Its small size and peaceful nature make it well suited to nano and community aquariums. As with all Dwarf Gourami varieties, it is susceptible to Dwarf Gourami Iridovirus (DGIV) and benefits from low stress and excellent water quality.
Water: temp 25–28°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft to moderately hard. Tank: minimum 60L; densely planted with floating cover to reduce stress. Feeding: omnivore — flake food, micro pellets, live and frozen invertebrates. Behaviour: peaceful; males may briefly display to one another. Compatibility: peaceful nano community fish; compatible with small tetras, rasboras, and shrimp.
