Rocio octofasciata, the Jack Dempsey Cichlid, is a beautifully coloured Central American cichlid with thousands of iridescent blue-green spots on a dark body. One of the classic large-cichlid hobby fish — bold, intelligent and interactive.

200 L+ tank. Temperature 22–28°C, pH 6.5–8.0, GH 6–20. Aggressive especially when larger — keep with similar-sized cichlids or species only. Feed quality cichlid pellets and meaty frozen foods.
