Pelvicachromis roloffi
Also known as: Roloff's Krib, Roloff's Kribensis
Origin: West Africa (Sierra Leone, Guinea)
Pelvicachromis roloffi is a slender-bodied krib species found in the coastal rivers and forest streams of Sierra Leone and Guinea. It is less frequently available than P. pulcher and is highly regarded by West African cichlid enthusiasts. Like other Pelvicachromis, it requires a matched pair, caves for breeding, and soft acidic water conditions.
Water: 24–27°C, pH 5.5–6.8, soft blackwater-type conditions preferred. Tank: Minimum 80L; provide caves, driftwood, and dense vegetation. Feeding: Micro pellets, frozen daphnia, brine shrimp, bloodworm, and live foods. Behaviour: Cave spawner; bonded pairs show strong parental care and territorial guarding. Compatibility: Community tank with peaceful surface and mid-water fish; keep one pair per tank.
