The male Rosy Barb is a robust and colourful species displaying a vivid pink-to-red body with a distinctive black spot near the tail. An active schooling fish that appreciates open swimming space and thrives in cooler-than-average community tanks. Males become especially vibrant during courtship displays. A classic, reliable community fish ideal for temperate aquariums.
Minimum 100 L with open swimming space. pH 6.0–7.5, GH 5–20, KH 2–10, temperature 18–22°C. Feed quality flake, micro pellets, and frozen bloodworm. Keep in mixed groups of 6+ with females to encourage natural colour display. Compatible with other cool-water fish. Vigorous swimmer — avoid very small or timid tank mates.
