The Royal Gramma Basslet (Gramma loreto) is a stunning and robust Caribbean fish split in vivid purple-violet at the front and bright yellow at the rear, making it one of the most photogenic fish for any reef display. Reef-safe and generally peaceful, it is an excellent choice for smaller aquariums. It commonly hovers upside-down near cave ceilings — entirely natural behaviour related to its preference for reef overhangs.
Care Guide
Provide adequate live rock with caves and ledges for shelter. Keep only one per tank in systems under 300L unless the aquarium is very large with distinct territories. Feed varied carnivore diet of mysis, brine shrimp, and frozen blends. Reef-safe; does not harm coral or invertebrates. One of the most forgiving marine fish for beginners.
