Chaetostoma milesi
Origin: Colombia
Chaetostoma milesi, the Rubbernose or Bulldog Pleco, is a compact Colombian hillstream pleco with a distinctive rubbery, prehensile snout allowing it to graze algae from irregular rock surfaces and crevices. Reaching only 10–12 cm, it is well-suited to medium-sized planted tanks. Unlike the Common Pleco, it stays small and manageable while remaining an efficient algae grazer. Prefers cooler, well-oxygenated water with moderate flow. Peaceful with all community fish.
Temperature 20–26 °C, good flow and oxygenation. Flat stones and driftwood for grazing. Feed algae wafers, blanched vegetables, biofilm. Does not eat live plants. Peaceful with all species. 80+ L.
