Sawbwa resplendens
Origin: Myanmar (Inle Lake)
The Rummy Nose Rasbora (Sawbwa resplendens), also known as the Asian Rummynose or Naked Microrasbora, is a captivating nano fish from Inle Lake in Myanmar. Males display a vivid red snout, electric blue body, and red-tipped tail in breeding colour. Unlike most small rasboras, it prefers alkaline water matching its unique highland lake habitat. A delicate and striking species best suited to a species-specific or very gentle nano community.
Maintain alkaline water (pH 7.0–8.0, GH 6–15) mirroring Inle Lake conditions. Use a well-planted, lightly stocked nano aquarium with gentle filtration. Feed micro-sized live and frozen foods such as baby brine shrimp, micro worms, and Daphnia. Keep in groups of 8 or more for natural behaviour and colour expression. Males colour up intensely when competing for females.
