Carassius auratus
Origin: Captive bred
The Yellow Ryukin is a rare and attractive variety displaying a uniform warm golden-yellow colouration across the body and flowing quadruple tail. The characteristic high dorsal hump gives the fish a bold, rounded profile, and the even yellow tone contrasts beautifully against green-planted aquariums or dark substrates. As a less commonly available variety, it stands out in mixed fancy goldfish displays.
As with all Ryukin goldfish, maintain cool water (10–22°C), strong filtration, and a minimum of 150L per adult. Feed a varied diet of goldfish pellets, blanched peas and lettuce, and occasional frozen foods. Avoid mixing with slim-bodied goldfish or tropical species. Perform 30–50% water changes weekly to sustain water quality. The yellow colouration can fade without adequate nutrition and lighting.
