Corydoras habrosus
Origin: Venezuela, Colombia (Llanos region)
Corydoras habrosus (Salt and Pepper Cory) is one of three commonly kept dwarf cories and among the smallest Corydoras species, displaying a fine peppered pattern of dark spots over a cream-white body. From the Llanos region of Venezuela and Colombia, it is a completely peaceful, bottom-dwelling micro predator that thrives in groups of ten or more. Ideal for nano aquariums and planted tanks alongside other small, peaceful species.
Keep in groups of at least 10 for confident, natural behaviour. Fine sand substrate is essential to protect delicate barbels from abrasion. Provide driftwood, leaf litter, and dense planting for cover. Feed micro-sized sinking foods: mini cory wafers, micro pellets, baby brine shrimp, and frozen Cyclops. Soft, slightly acidic to neutral water preferred. Sensitive to ammonia spikes.
