Cirrhilabrus scottorum
Origin: Central and Western Pacific
Scott's Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus scottorum) is a spectacularly coloured species from the central and western Pacific, where terminal-phase males display an intense mosaic of blue, green, red, and yellow that changes with viewing angle. One of the most popular fairy wrasses in the hobby, it is more regularly available than many of the rarities yet still commands premium prices due to its extraordinary coloration. A hardy and adaptable reef species well-suited to active reef aquariums.
Provide a reef aquarium with abundant live rock and open swimming space. Feed mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, quality carnivore frozen foods, and marine pellets twice daily. Peaceful with most reef fish; can be kept with other fairy wrasses of different species. House only one male per tank unless the system is very large. Requires a tight-fitting lid — a strong jumper when startled.
