Glossolepis multisquamatus

Origin: Papua New Guinea (Sepik River)
Glossolepis multisquamatus is found throughout the Sepik River basin, the second longest river in Papua New Guinea. It is one of the largest rainbowfish species, with males able to reach 16 cm. The silvery body is heavily overlaid with orange-red scale iridescence that intensifies under bright lighting. A powerful swimmer requiring a very large, well-filtered aquarium.
Water: 24–28°C, pH 7.0–8.0, moderately hard water. Tank: 300 L+ minimum; robust filtration and regular large water changes essential. Feeding: Omnivore; large flakes, pellets, and generous portions of frozen/live foods. Behaviour: Active, powerful, and peaceful schooling fish; can disturb delicate plants. Compatibility: Best with other large rainbowfish and robust community species.
