Micralestes acutidens

Origin: West/Central Africa
Micralestes acutidens is a schooling characin distributed across much of West and Central Africa, commonly found in rivers and streams alongside other tetra species. It has a silver body with faint patterning and is an active, hardy addition to a West African community tank. It accepts a wide range of foods and water parameters.
Water: 23–27°C, pH 6.0–7.5, moderate hardness tolerated. Tank: Minimum 80L; long tank with open swimming space and plant cover at the edges. Feeding: Flake food, small pellets, and frozen or live brine shrimp, cyclops, and daphnia. Behaviour: Active schooling fish; peaceful and non-aggressive; may be slightly nippy with very long-finned species. Compatibility: Excellent with other West African tetras, kribensis, and killifish.
