Shusui Koi Small

Shusui is the Doitsu scale-reduced form of Asagi, featuring a line of large blue scales along the dorsal ridge and vivid red hi markings on a clean pale body. The neat single scale row gives this variety a very distinctive, tidy appearance that becomes more refined as the fish grows. An excellent starter Shusui that will reward with increasingly dramatic colouration over its lifetime.

Establish in a pond of at least 1000L with quality biological filtration. Feed floating koi pellets calibrated to water temperature — reduce feeding in autumn and stop below 5°C. Monitor ammonia and nitrite particularly during early season when bacteria are becoming active after winter. Provide adequate depth for safe Belgian overwintering.
