Rheocles sikorae

Origin: Madagascar
Rheocles sikorae is native to fast-flowing highland streams in central Madagascar, adapted to cool, clear, well-oxygenated water. Its slender, streamlined body is well adapted to life in current. A rarely seen species in the hobby that requires excellent water quality and slightly cooler temperatures, rewarding attentive care with excellent condition and longevity.
Water: 18–22°C, pH 6.5–7.5, soft to moderately hard, well-oxygenated. Tank: 80 L+, strong water flow and oxygenation; pristine water quality essential. Feeding: Omnivore; flakes, small pellets, and frozen/live foods. Behaviour: Active, peaceful, current-loving schooling fish; thrives in flowing water. Compatibility: Best with other cool-water, current-adapted fish; avoid warm-water species.
