Corydoras similis is a medium-sized species from the Brazilian Amazon that closely resembles other Corydoras in its range, particularly C. rabauti, requiring careful examination to separate them. It is a hardy and adaptable species performing well in standard community aquariums. Its close similarity to other species adds an interesting identification challenge.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.2, soft to medium hardness; adaptable and hardy. Tank: 60L+, fine sand substrate, moderate flow, plants and open areas. Feeding: Sinking wafers, pellets, frozen bloodworm, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Behaviour: Active, peaceful schooling bottom dweller; keep in groups of 6+. Compatibility: Good community fish with most peaceful tropical species.
