Pseudocheilinus hexataenia
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Pseudocheilinus hexataenia — the six-line wrasse — is a small, active reef fish with six vivid horizontal blue lines over an orange body. It is a relentless hunter of pyramidellid snails (which attack Tridacna clams), bristle worms, and small crustaceans. While reef-safe, it can be aggressive toward smaller or similarly shaped fish. Its hardiness and pest-control value make it a popular choice for established reef systems.
Light: any. Flow: moderate. Feed: mysis, small frozen foods. Reef-safe but aggressive to similar-shaped small fish. Pest control benefit. Sleeps in mucus cocoon at night.
