Trigonopoma gracile
Also known as: Slender Rasbora
Origin: Malay Peninsula, Sumatra
Trigonopoma gracile is a slender, lightly built rasbora from the slow-moving streams and forest pools of the Malay Peninsula and Sumatra. Its near-transparent body with a faint silvery lateral stripe makes it easy to overlook, but a large school in a well-lit planted tank creates a delicately shimmering curtain effect. It is hardy and undemanding, accepting a wide range of water conditions once settled.
Water: 22–27 °C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft to moderately hard (GH 3–12). Tank: 80 L minimum; open swimming space with planted edges and subdued lighting. Feeding: Omnivore — flakes, micro pellets, small live or frozen foods. Behaviour: Active schooler; keep 10+ for best group behaviour. Compatibility: Peaceful with all small community fish; avoid larger boisterous species.
