Corydoras sodalis
Origin: Brazil (Rio Purus, Amazon drainage)
Corydoras sodalis is a rare, spotted dwarf cory from the Rio Purus and surrounding Amazon drainages in Brazil, featuring a fine pepper-dot pattern over a pale body. Its calm disposition, small size, and substrate-sifting behaviour make it a functional and beautiful addition to nano community tanks. Like all corydoras, it requires excellent water quality and a smooth sandy substrate to protect its delicate barbels.
Provide fine sand substrate. Keep in groups of 6 or more. Feed sinking micro pellets, frozen bloodworm, Daphnia, and baby brine shrimp. Maintain soft to moderately hard water and excellent water quality. Compatible with all peaceful nano and small community fish. Sensitive to ammonia spikes — regular water changes essential.
