Trichopsis pumila
Origin: Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia)
Trichopsis pumila, the Sparkling Gourami or Pygmy Gourami, is the smallest gourami species. At only 3–4 cm, it displays iridescent blue-green rows of dots and bright red fin edging. Like other labyrinth fish, it breathes atmospheric air. Produces a distinctive croaking sound during courtship. Pack of 6.
At least 20 L in a well-planted tank. Peaceful with similar-sized fish and shrimp. Avoid large or aggressive tankmates. Feed micro flake, baby brine shrimp, frozen daphnia. Provide surface access for air-breathing. Males build a small bubble nest. Prefer dense vegetation and floating plants. Slightly acidic water ideal.
