Corydoras ambiacus is a medium-sized, undemanding cory widely collected from the Peruvian Amazon around Iquitos. Its pale body is liberally covered with dark brown speckles and blotches. It is hardy and adaptable, making it a reliable choice for hobbyists of all experience levels who want an active, social bottom dweller.
Water: 22–27°C, pH 6.5–7.5, soft to medium hardness; tolerant of a range of conditions. Tank: 60L+, fine sand substrate, moderate flow, plants and hiding spots. Feeding: Sinking pellets, wafers, frozen daphnia, bloodworm, and vegetable-based foods. Behaviour: Peaceful, social bottom dweller; best kept in groups of 6 or more. Compatibility: Excellent community fish; compatible with most peaceful tropical species.
