Corydoras spectabilis
Origin: Brazil, Bolivia (Guapore River basin)
Corydoras spectabilis is a beautiful and infrequently imported species from the Guapore River basin (Brazil/Bolivia), notable for its bold black blotching over a warm-tan background. Its robust build and lively foraging behaviour make it a captivating bottom-level inhabitant. Best maintained in groups where its energetic social interactions can be observed.
Provide fine sand substrate for sensitive barbel protection. Keep in groups of 6 or more. Feed quality sinking pellets, frozen bloodworm, Daphnia, and baby brine shrimp. Tolerates moderate water conditions but prefers soft to moderately hard water. Regular partial water changes are essential — sensitive to nitrite and ammonia. Peaceful with all community fish.
