Stigmatogobius pleurostigma

Origin: Southeast Asia
Stigmatogobius pleurostigma is closely related to the Knight Goby and shares its range across Southeast Asian coastal rivers and estuaries. It is a smaller and less commonly available species than S. sadanundio but equally hardy and adaptable. Males develop elongated dorsal fin rays during breeding season and engage in territorial displays on the substrate.
Water: 24–28 °C, pH 7.5–8.5, specific gravity 1.003–1.010; low to moderate brackish. Tank: 60 L minimum; sandy substrate with rocks, caves, and scattered driftwood. Feeding: Carnivorous; frozen bloodworm, brine shrimp, small shrimp, and sinking pellets. Behaviour: Territorial bottom-dweller; males display and spar; provide one territory per male. Compatibility: Compatible with larger brackish fish; do not house with delicate nano species.
