Skiffia multipunctata
Also known as: Spotted Skiffia, Multipunctata Skiffia
Origin: Mexico (Michoacán, Jalisco)
Skiffia multipunctata is found in the rivers of Michoacán and Jalisco, Mexico, and is among the more adaptable goodeid livebearers. Males display fine dark spotting on an olive-golden body with an attractive dark caudal margin. It is relatively peaceful and tolerates a range of tankmates, making it more community-friendly than most goodeids.
Water: 18–26°C, pH 7.0–8.0, moderately hard water preferred. Tank: 60L minimum, robust plants, open swimming space. Feeding: Omnivore — algae, plant matter, sinking pellets, frozen daphnia. Behaviour: Peaceful; males display without excessive chasing. Compatibility: Good with other goodeids, platies, tetras, and corydoras.
