About
The Stardust discus is a breathtaking premium strain featuring a dark base body — typically deep brown to near-black — covered with hundreds of tiny sparkling white to silver iridescent spots resembling a starfield. A recent development in European discus breeding that has rapidly become a collector favourite in Belgium and the Netherlands. Each fish displays a unique spot distribution, making every specimen individual. Like all discus, it demands pristine, warm, soft water and a high-protein diet for full coloration.
Care Guide
Maintain at 28–31°C with soft, slightly acidic water (pH 6.0–7.0) and low dissolved solids. Perform frequent partial water changes — 25–50% weekly minimum. Feed a premium high-protein diet: quality discus granules, beef heart mix, frozen bloodworm, and blackworm. Keep in groups of 5+ to distribute aggression and encourage natural schooling behavior. Quarantine new fish before introduction.
