Nothobranchius steinforti

Origin: Coastal Mozambique
Nothobranchius steinforti is a seldom-described and rarely traded annual killifish from the coastal lowlands of Mozambique. Males display the classic Nothobranchius combination of vivid red body scaling and blue-edged fins. It requires standard annual killifish management including peat spawning substrate and dry egg incubation, and is best suited to experienced keepers.
Water: 20–26 °C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft water. Tank: 30 L species tank; peat substrate; close-fitting lid essential. Feeding: Live Daphnia, Artemia, and micro worms; blood worm as treat. Behaviour: Males territorial; single-male trio recommended. Compatibility: Species tank only.
