Corydoras sterbai
Origin: Rio Guaporé, Bolivia-Brazil border
Corydoras sterbai is among the most beautiful of the 150+ Corydoras species, displaying a dark body covered in pale cream spots with vivid orange pectoral fins. Native to the Rio Guaporé on the Bolivia-Brazil border, it prefers warm water and is one of the few cories truly comfortable at 28–30 °C, making it an ideal companion for Discus tanks. A peaceful schooling catfish that constantly forages the substrate without disturbing plants.
Groups of 6+. Fine sand substrate to protect barbels. Temperature 26–30 °C. Feed sinking pellets, frozen bloodworm, and catfish wafers. Very sensitive to salt — never add aquarium salt to the tank. Regular water changes essential.
