Conus striatus
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Conus striatus is a visually striking marine cone snail with a beautifully patterned shell displaying distinctive linear markings on a cream to orange background. Sold strictly as a display specimen for experienced keepers, it is best maintained in a species-only or specialist setup where it can exhibit natural burrowing behavior in a deep sand bed. Standard caution should be exercised when handling, as with all cone snails. Its impressive shell and naturalistic behavior make it a fascinating display animal for dedicated marine invertebrate aquarists.
Maintain in a tank with a minimum 10 cm deep fine sand bed for natural burrowing. Provide stable, high-quality saltwater with pristine parameters. Feed appropriately — will hunt actively at night. Handle only with tools (tongs, thick gloves), never bare hands. Avoid any powerful intakes that could injure the snail. Not suitable for general reef aquariums; species-only or very controlled setups only.
