Synodontis decorus
Origin: Congo River Basin
Synodontis decorus is a large and attractive squeaker catfish from the Congo River. It is characterised by its bold black spots on a white/grey body and the elongated dorsal fin filament that develops in adults. An active nocturnal scavenger, it adapts well to aquarium life and is compatible with larger cichlids.
Provide caves, driftwood and hiding places. At least 200 L for adults. Feeds on sinking pellets, wafer, earthworms. Nocturnal — feed after lights out. Can be kept with large African cichlids. Will eat smaller fish. Hardy once established.
