Caridina cantonensis hybrid (Taiwan Bee x Tibee)
Also known as: Taitibee Shrimp, Taiwan Bee Tibee Hybrid
Origin: Selectively bred hybrid
The Taitibee Shrimp is a more advanced and partially stabilized hybrid combining Taiwan Bee and Tibee genetic lines. The result is a diverse array of color expressions — from intricate mosaic patterns spanning multiple colors to near-solid tones — making every batch a unique visual experience. While no two Taitibee look identical, breeders select for appealing combinations over multiple generations. They require soft, acidic, low-TDS water similar to Taiwan Bee parents but are generally slightly more robust than pure Taiwan Bee varieties. Planted tanks with abundant moss, biofilm, and leaf litter create the best environment for colony establishment and breeding success.
Water: pH 5.8–6.8, TDS 80–150 ppm, temperature 20–24°C; soft water with active substrate recommended. Tank: 30–60 litres; moss-heavy planted setup; sponge filtration. Feeding: Biofilm, premium shrimp pellets, algae, Indian almond leaf litter. Breeding: Select most visually striking offspring as breeding stock; highly variable progeny. Compatibility: Species-only or with other Taiwan Bee hybrids at matching parameters.
