Taiwan Bee Shrimp

Taiwan Bee Shrimp is an umbrella term for a class of high-grade Caridina cantonensis hybrids selectively developed in Taiwan through complex crosses between Crystal Red, Crystal Black, and other Caridina lines. The result is a diverse group of shrimp displaying bold, high-contrast combinations of black, red, and white in patterns including mosaic, panda, wine-red, and king kong forms.

All Taiwan Bee variants require the same demanding conditions: pristine soft, acidic, low-KH water achieved through RO filtration and Caridina mineral salts, combined with active buffering substrate and perfectly stable parameters. Any fluctuation in water chemistry can cause moulting failures and rapid colony decline.

Taiwan Bee Shrimp represent the apex of selective Caridina breeding and are among the most coveted and expensive freshwater invertebrates in the world. They are strictly for experienced, dedicated shrimp keepers with proven setups.

Water: 18–23°C, pH 5.8–6.5, GH 3–6, KH 0–1; RO water with Caridina mineral salts; TDS 100–150. Tank: minimum 20 L; active buffering substrate; sponge filter; dense moss and low-light plants. Feeding: snowflake food, biofilm powders, algae wafers; tiny portions every 1–2 days. Breeding: moderate; females carry 15–20 eggs for 3–4 weeks; juveniles tiny and delicate. Compatibility: Taiwan Bee or bee shrimp only; absolutely no fish; no Neocaridina.
