Caridina cf. cantonensis (hybrid)
Also known as: Tangerine Tiger x Crystal Black Hybrid, Orange Tiger Crystal Shrimp
Origin: Captive bred (hybrid lineage)
This hybrid crosses the Tangerine Tiger Shrimp (Caridina cf. cantonensis, tiger form) with Crystal Black Shrimp to produce offspring displaying a vivid combination of orange and black tiger striping with variable white coverage. Pattern and colour intensity vary significantly between individuals, as expected in F1 hybrid crosses, making each shrimp one-of-a-kind. They share the soft acidic water requirements of both parent species and thrive in well-maintained Caridina setups.
Water: 20–24°C, pH 5.8–6.8, TDS 100–180, GH 4–7, KH 0–2; buffering substrate ideal. Tank: minimum 20 L, moss, driftwood, and leaf litter; dark substrate preferred. Feeding: biofilm, powdered shrimp food, blanched greens, algae wafers. Behaviour: active grazers; peaceful; pattern variation makes group displays interesting. Compatibility: shrimp-only; avoid all fish.
