Apistogramma sp. Tapajós is collected from the famous Tapajós River of Brazil, a major clearwater tributary of the Amazon known for its exceptional biodiversity. Males display turquoise-blue highlights on their scales and fins, contrasting with bold dark body markings. Soft, slightly acidic water replicating clearwater conditions is recommended.
Water: 25-30°C, pH 5.0-6.8, soft (GH 1-6); clearwater conditions preferred. Tank: 60L minimum, sand substrate, caves, driftwood, and fine-leaved plants. Feeding: omnivore — live/frozen foods preferred; quality cichlid pellets. Behaviour: territorial during breeding; harem setup (1M:2-3F) recommended. Compatibility: peaceful community with small Tapajós tetras and Corydoras.
