Teleocichla cinderella
Also known as: Teleocichla cinderella, Cinderella Cichlid
Origin: South America (Brazil, Rio Xingu)
Teleocichla cinderella is a rheophilic dwarf cichlid endemic to the fast-flowing rocky rapids of the Rio Xingu in Brazil. Its slender, hydrodynamic body is silver-grey with bold dark markings adapted for life among rocks in high-current environments. Replicating the strong water movement and high oxygen levels of its native habitat is essential for long-term health in the aquarium.
Water: 26-30°C, pH 6.0-7.5, GH 2-10, KH 1-5; high oxygenation and strong flow mandatory. Tank: 100L minimum; rocky caves and strong filtration creating significant current. Feeding: Omnivore; sifts biofilm and small invertebrates; frozen bloodworms and quality pellets accepted. Behaviour: Peaceful toward other species; males competitive among themselves. Compatibility: Suitable with other rheophilic species; avoid slow-water fish.
