Limnopilos naiyanetri
Also known as: Thai Micro Crab, False Spider Crab
Origin: Thailand
Limnopilos naiyanetri is one of the world's smallest fully aquatic freshwater crabs, reaching only around 1cm across its carapace. It is entirely aquatic and can be kept in nano tanks alongside dwarf shrimp and other small invertebrates. It feeds on biofilm, fine particles, and suspended food and is extraordinarily peaceful.
Water: 22–28°C, pH 6.5–7.5; soft to moderately hard, clean water with excellent filtration. Tank: Minimum 20L nano with dense plants, moss, and driftwood; Java moss provides ideal cover and feeding substrate. Feeding: Biofilm, fine powdered food, suspended particles; accepts nano shrimp foods. Behaviour: Shy and secretive; rarely seen in open water; lives in moss and plant thickets. Compatibility: Safe with small, peaceful fish and dwarf shrimp; avoid any fish large enough to eat it.
