Puntigrus tetrazona
Origin: Captive bred (Sumatra origin)
The Green Tiger Barb is a captive-bred color morph replacing the standard orange base with striking iridescent green coloration while retaining the characteristic black barring pattern of the Tiger Barb. It schools naturally with standard, albino, and long-fin Tiger Barb variants, creating a visually dynamic and colorful mixed group. Its hardy constitution and adaptability make it an excellent choice for active community aquariums with robust tank mates.
Identical care to the standard Tiger Barb. Keep in groups of 8 or more — mixed groups with other Tiger Barb color morphs are ideal. Provide planted tanks with open swimming space and moderate flow. Avoid housing with long-finned slow species vulnerable to nipping. Feed quality flake, pellets, and frozen foods.
