Tinca tinca (Tench) is a native European pond fish known as the 'doctor fish' for the belief that its slime heals other fish. A gentle, bottom-dwelling pond species that rarely shows itself but provides ecological balance.
Care Guide
pH 7.0–8.5, temp 4–25°C. Fully cold-hardy. Bottom-dwelling scavenger — cleans up uneaten food. Muddy-bottomed ponds are preferred. Requires pond minimum 3000L for healthy growth.
