Origin: Sierra Leone
Callopanchax toddi is a rare and highly prized non-annual killifish from the forest streams of Sierra Leone. Males display an extraordinarily dense mosaic of red-orange scales over a blue-green base, producing a jewel-like appearance that places it among the most beautiful of all African killifish. Its rarity, large size, and demanding nature make it exclusively a fish for the experienced specialist keeper.
Water: 22–26 °C, pH 6.0–7.0, soft and slightly acidic. Tank: 60 L species tank; dense cover; floating plants; very secure lid. Feeding: Large live and frozen invertebrates; insects, earth worms, Artemia. Behaviour: Males extremely territorial; one male only; monitor females for stress. Compatibility: Species tank only.
