Tropheus moorii
Origin: Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania
Tropheus moorii 'Bulu Point' originates from the southern end of Lake Tanganyika and displays a rich chocolate-brown body with a vivid orange blaze across the mid-section. Like all Tropheus it is a highly aggressive, herbivorous cichlid best kept in colonies of 12 or more to diffuse aggression. It is prone to bloat (Malawi bloat) if fed protein-rich foods — a strict herbivore diet of spirulina-based flakes and algae wafers is essential.
Tank: 300+ L, colony of 12+. pH 8.0–8.5. Strict herbivore diet — spirulina flakes/pellets, algae wafers. NEVER feed high-protein foods. Highly aggressive — overstocking reduces injuries.
