Amphiprion bicinctus
Origin: Red Sea, Gulf of Aden
Amphiprion bicinctus, the Two-Band Clownfish, is endemic to the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden and sports a vivid orange body adorned with two bold white bars. It is a naturally curious and territorial species that pairs readily with bubble tip anemones. Captive-bred specimens are increasingly available and adapt well to reef life, making this Red Sea rarity more accessible to dedicated hobbyists.
House in a minimum 100 L reef aquarium with a compatible host anemone if possible. Feed a varied diet of pellets, frozen mysis, and enriched brine shrimp twice daily. Maintain temperature 24–28°C and salinity 1.020–1.025 SG. Semi-aggressive toward other clownfish; best kept as a mated pair.
