Corydoras weitzmani
Also known as: Two-saddle Cory, Weitzman's Cory
Origin: South America
Corydoras weitzmani is instantly recognisable by the two large, clearly defined dark saddles draped across its back, making it one of the most visually distinctive Corydoras species. It comes from the upper Madre de Dios drainage in Peru and requires soft, slightly acidic conditions. Its unique markings and relative rarity secure its place as a collector favourite.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.2, soft to medium hardness; clean, well-oxygenated water. Tank: 60L+, fine sand substrate, gentle to moderate flow, plants and driftwood. Feeding: Sinking wafers, quality pellets, frozen bloodworm, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling bottom dweller; groups of 6+ recommended. Compatibility: Good community fish with small to medium peaceful South American species.
