Centropyge bispinosa
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Centropyge bispinosa is one of the most colourful pygmy angelfish, displaying orange-red flanks laced with electric blue vertical stripes that intensify with age. It spends its days grazing on microalgae and detritus across the rockwork, occupying the middle and lower reef zones. Moderately hardy, it rewards patient keepers with long-term residency and rewarding personality. May occasionally nip at LPS coral polyps.
Provide a 120 L or larger tank with extensive live rock for grazing and hiding. Supplement with spirulina-enriched frozen foods and nori strips. Maintain temperature 22–27°C, SG 1.020–1.025. Semi-aggressive toward conspecifics; introduce only one per system unless in a very large tank.
