Vampire Crab Purple

Geosesarma dennerle was described as a new species in honour of the Dennerle aquarium brand, and quickly became one of the most coveted paludarium crabs in the hobby. Its purple-violet carapace and limbs contrast strikingly with its yellow eyes, making it a living gemstone in tropical humid enclosures. It requires the same humid paludarium conditions as other Vampire Crabs.

Water: 24–28°C, pH 7.5–8.0; shallow freshwater pool in a high-humidity paludarium environment. Tank: Minimum 40L paludarium with tropical substrate, cork hides, climbing décor, and a secure mesh lid. Feeding: Fruit flies, blanched greens, dried insects, sinking pellets, and leaf litter. Behaviour: Primarily terrestrial and nocturnal; territorial; best kept as a male-female pair. Compatibility: Species-only paludarium; not compatible with fish or other invertebrates.
