About

Corydoras venezuelanus is one of the more sizeable corydoras species and is found in the coastal rivers of Venezuela. It has been kept and bred in the hobby for decades and is notable for its tolerance of a wide range of water conditions. Its dense spotting pattern and orange-flushed fins make it a visually distinctive and reliable community fish.

Care Guide

Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft to moderately hard (GH 2–15). Tank: 80 L minimum given its size; fine sand substrate is essential. Feeding: Sinking pellets and wafers; frozen bloodworm and daphnia as regular treats. Behaviour: Active schooler; keep 6+; compatible with most community species. Compatibility: Hardy enough for tanks with slightly larger community fish.
