Corydoras venezuelanus
Origin: Lake Valencia basin, Venezuela
Corydoras venezuelanus is a stocky, robust corydoras from the Lake Valencia basin in Venezuela. Its body has a distinctive iridescent olive-green sheen on the upper flanks and a bold dark lateral blotch. One of the more active and confident corydoras species; it forages openly during the day rather than hiding. Tolerates moderately hard water better than many South American corydoras. A good choice for hard-water community tanks where softer cory species don't thrive.
Groups of 6+. Tolerates neutral to moderately hard water (pH 7.0–8.0, GH up to 15). Fine sand substrate. Temperature 22–26 °C. Feed sinking pellets, frozen bloodworm. Very hardy and adaptable.
