Favia sp.
Origin: Indo-Pacific (aquacultured morph)
This aquacultured 'Warpaint' morph of Favia sp. showcases bold, multi-coloured corallites with contrasting concentric rings in combinations of red, orange, yellow, and green that create striking patterns reminiscent of traditional tribal face paint. Every colony produces a unique colour arrangement, ensuring no two specimens are identical. A hardy and moderately fast-growing LPS coral that rewards stable chemistry and occasional target feeding with increasingly vivid colouration over time.
Place on open rockwork under medium lighting with moderate indirect flow. Provide adequate space — Favia can extend sweeper tentacles 2–3 cm at night and will sting neighbouring corals. Target feed meaty foods (mysis, reef roids) 1–2 times per week for best colouration and growth. Maintain temperature 24–27°C, dKH 8–10, Ca 400–450 ppm, Mg 1250–1350 ppm.
