Cryptocentrus cinctus
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Cryptocentrus cinctus — the yellow or yellow prawn-goby — is a chunky, yellow goby covered in blue spots. It naturally pairs with burrowing snapping shrimp (Alpheus sp.) and both benefit from the relationship. In the aquarium it serves as a sand-sifter, helping maintain sandbed health. It is more robust than smaller gobies and a confident feeder. Suitable for reef and FOWLR tanks with open sandbed areas.
Light: any. Flow: moderate. Sandbed required. Pairs well with Alpheus shrimp. TIGHT LID required. Feed: mysis, prepared frozen foods.
