Procambarus sp. 'White'
Also known as: White Specter Crayfish, Ghost Crayfish, Albino Crayfish
Origin: North America (captive bred)
The White Specter Crayfish is an albino or leucistic form of Procambarus displaying translucent to pure white colouration that gives it an unmistakable ghostly appearance. It retains the hardiness and adaptability of its North American Procambarus relatives while offering a truly dramatic visual impact. Despite its otherworldly appearance, it is aggressive and predatory like all crayfish and requires a species-specific setup or large fish-only tank.
Water: 18–26°C, pH 7.0–8.0, GH 6–15, KH 3–8; adaptable to most conditioned tap water. Tank: minimum 80 L, multiple cave hides, rocks; secure lid. Feeding: sinking pellets, vegetables, frozen meaty foods; omnivorous diet. Behaviour: territorial and predatory; digs substrate; destroys plants. Compatibility: species-only or with large fish; not safe with small invertebrates.
