Caridina cantonensis var. 'Wine Red King Kong'
Also known as: Wine Red King Kong, WRKK Shrimp
Origin: Selectively bred; base species from Southern China
The Wine Red King Kong is a premium Taiwan Bee Caridina derived from King Kong lines and selectively bred for a deep, uniform burgundy-wine full-body coloration. Unlike the standard King Kong which can express black or red solid tones, the Wine Red is specifically selected for its deep wine-red hue — rich, saturated, and non-banded. In a well-maintained Caridina tank with soft, acidic, low-TDS water, an active buffering substrate, and abundant biofilm, these shrimp develop their most intense coloration. A standout collector shrimp for advanced hobbyists who appreciate the intersection of genetics and color excellence in the Taiwan Bee hobby.
Water: pH 5.8–6.8, TDS 80–130 ppm, temperature 20–24°C; RO water with Caridina GH+ mineral and active substrate. Tank: 30–60 litres dedicated Caridina setup; moss-heavy; sponge filtration. Feeding: Premium shrimp pellets, biofilm, algae, Indian almond leaf litter. Breeding: Breed with King Kong or Red Wine for color-line maintenance. Compatibility: Species-only; no Neocaridina or fish.
