Also known as: Xingu Pike Cichlid
Origin: South America
Crenicichla sp. 'Xingu' is an undescribed pike cichlid from the rapids of the rio Xingu in Brazil, sharing its range with iconic species like the Zebra Pleco. Its fiery red-orange and black patterning is among the most striking in the Crenicichla genus. Demanding but highly rewarding.

Feeding: Carnivore; high-quality prawn, mussels, large live or frozen foods, pellets. Behaviour: Highly aggressive and territorial; best kept alone or with very large non-cichlids. Compatibility: Species-only recommended; can be paired with a mate in very large tanks.
