Stonogobiops yasha — the Yasha hase or yellow nose prawn goby — is one of the most striking gobies available. Its brilliant red and white banded body with contrasting long dorsal and caudal fin is remarkable. In nature it always pairs with the Alpheus randalli pistol shrimp in a mutualistic relationship. Keeping this pair together is highly recommended and creates a fascinating display. It is a bold feeder compared to other Stonogobiops species.
